COMBATE is Rayograph Films' current passion project--a feature length documentary film by Venezuelan Writer/ Producer/ Director Temistocles (Temi) Lopez.
Four years in the making, COMBATE presents for the first time a chronicle of Chavismo from its beginnings to the present day. It tells the story of how a movement that promised a socialist paradise, free of poverty, corruption and injustice, turned into a corrupt, repressive and violent dictatorship from which 8 million citizens have been forced to flee due to hunger, injustice and persecution.
The heroes of our story are parents whose children were brutally murdered, activists tortured for years, leaders who've risked their lives and continue the fight from the exile.
The film is almost finished, but we need to add the final chapter: the road to democracy as illustrated by the current showdown between Nicolas Maduro, the dictator who has unleashed the bloodbath he promised if he lost the elections, and the legitimately elected president, backed by Maria Corina Machado and the 7 million Venezuelans who voted for a radical change.
COMBATE is an essential document needed to understand how a once prosperous democracy turned into a totalitarian regime, allied with Russia, China, Cuba and Iran, that brutally oppresses its citizens and affects the geopolitical dynamics of the entire globe. Without a change, Venezuela is doomed to endless cycles of violence, triggering yet another massive wave of refugees that will tear families apart and affect the entire continent spreading poverty, insecurity and pain.
Much more than a history lesson, COMBATE will hopefully incite action from citizens and the international institutions that have the power to effect change on the global stage. We are producing a documentary of the highest professional quality that can be distributed worldwide, but we need "finishing funds" to complete the film and license the sizable amount of archival footage needed to tell Venezuela's story. We will soon be launching a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to help raise awareness and secure essential funds to finalize this important project.
We are asking our fellow freedom fighters to "join the fight" and add their name and email address to our growing Indigogo community to help us accomplish our mission (click pre-launch sign-up link below). Thank you in advance for your support, and please know that even one dollar pledged will help the cause!
